    Hey there,

I am using Babel which is working fine in the backend, but somehow I am experiencing problems when I want to preview resources. Seems like some of my system settings aren't correct.

My gateway plugin distinguishes between country specified domains (.fr, .de, .co.uk) and sets cultureKey, context and site_start (added by me).

In my contexts, I have a setting "site_url" which points to the correct domain.

However, everytime I click preview I get a very inconsistent behaviour as a resource in the .co.uk context (default context) points me to .de while the others point me to their respective domain but append the alias like this:

    domain-name.fralias/

It leaves out the subdirectory in which my modx installation is in (currently /cms2/). However, even if I alter the url to look like this:

    domain-name.fr/cms2/alias.html

It will still not be found...

I guess lots of things going wrong here. And I cannot fully eliminate other rewrite rules for having an influence as this is a big project with lots of rules. But still, can you give me a hint why modx is pointing me in the wrong direction when trying to preview?

Sorry that I cant be much of help but I never got babel working.Closest to perfect tutorial on how to do it, step by step is:
      http://designfromwithin.com/blog/995/modx-multilingual-setting-up-babel/

If you cant get it working in the end you could just create different containers in the resource tree to separate languages, duplicate original content and translate.

        Thanks blackflow,

found this tut also, now it is working. Found out that I had to add my subfolder to the site_url setting also, like this: http://domain-name.fr/subfolder/

Somehow, still having some problems with site_url for the default context (web). But I think this will go to a different thread.

        Cheers
