Hi I am new to MODx, and I am learning Evolution. I am working through A.S John's book, MODx Web Development.
Theres something I can't figure out I have created a template writing the HTML in MODx, then uploading the CSS from my editor, the template works fine, however in the Document tree following the book I have tried to create a blog which the end user can manage, and edit the content, however when I preview this I keep getting this default site, like when I preview everthing in the document tree, or click preview in the top right. If I click preview in the top left I get my HTML/CSS template, but as the blog I created is in the document tree, it is not showing up in the template at all.
So how do I connect the template to the document tree, and lose the default site I keep getting sent too, so I can have full control of my site, from creating the template, and working with the document tree. I have already set the template in all the documents in the tree to my template, however when I preview I get the default site.
    Thanks in advance
    Ant

I solved the problem, I turned the friendly urls off, and the document tree could access the template I created directly.
      Thanks
