Yup - well recommended. I actually followed the instructions and examples properly this time and loved it (rather than last time where I just confused myself wink).

Hey Guys! Awh, sad , I guess I still have a lot to learn about Modx.

                1. Download and extract the archive.
                2. Create a directory called "maxigallery" in your [MODx Directory]/assets/snippets directory
                3. Create a directory called "galleries" in your [MODx Directory]/assets/ directory
                4. CHMOD assets/galleries/ folder to 0777 (unless you have phpsuexec or similar installed)
                5. FTP or copy the files from the assets/snippets/maxigallery folder into [MODx Directory]/assets/snippets/maxigallery
                6. Create a new snippet in the manager called "MaxiGallery" and copy/paste the contents of MaxiGallery.txt into the code field.

I understand step #1, but I was not able to follow step 2 (hence step 3-6). ANY help would be appreciated!

                Thanks,

That means use FTP or SSH or however else you access the files on your website’s server, and create a new folder in your MODx site’s assets/snippets directory. So you’ll have assets/snippets/maxigallery, along with assets/snippets/wayfinder, assets/snippets/ditto etc. You’ll need to upload all the files from the archive you extracted earlier.

Or, you can simply use FTP or SCP to upload the extracted maxigallery folder (with all its files) into your /assets/snippets directory. The whole point is that you end up with the /assets/snippets/maxigallery directory along with the other snippet directories.

Okay (dont laugh), I dont know what all your lingo means (FTP, SSH, etc). I am a digital photographer, and Photoshop user, so I know it it easy to use technical words that others dont know. Maybe some one can refer me to a place where I can learn the fundamentals of this stuff.

                    Thanks,

You may have a little learning curve, but it should be easy.

FTP stands for File Transport Protocol. You use an FTP client to transfer files from your laptop to a webserver.
If you go to www.download.com, and search for FTP client, you can find one. I use Transmit for Mac. http://www.panic.com/transmit/

I’m not sure if the wiki can help because you’ll need a fundamental understanding of web development. This site has some great tutorials to start:

Good luck! But don’t give up.
