I am in process of learning MODX. I've started by modyfing Sample Site (the one with blog).
In Resource there is Blog container using default template. I've duplicated whole tree to make another menu position for testing then I have changed template of new container. It works well using new template, displaying either all posts or single post correctly.
So, everything was ok at this point. But when I have changed template of original Blog container, it uses (correctly) new template for 'all posts' view, but shows single post with old one (unlike duplicated structure). I have compared options and checked everything but I don't get how can I set posts to use new template.
I hope I have described it clear enough.

If there are template variables on the page or in the template, you'll have to connect them to the new template by editing each TV individually.
Also, when you change templates for a page, the TV values are lost because they're stored by Resource ID + template ID. You have to go to the Create/Edit Resource page and re-enter their values (unless they contain the default value of the TV).

After some more digging it appeared that some blog posts had different templates set in options than the others.
It seems that Sample Site is not 'other templates'-friendly and some template settings are hard-written in Elements.
Anyway - solved.
