Default Template not showing correct TV values

I've created 2 templates now, and have changed in the system settings the default template to point to mainTemplate.

When you go to create a new page, mainTemplate is selected but my custom TV's that i've created and edited the position of them on the tabs to the default tabs don't show.

You have to reselect the template to get them to show, as per screenshots.

Make sure that all the TVs are connected to the new template (you have to edit each TV individually).

Also, TV values are stored by Resource ID + Template ID, so when you change a page's template, you lose them. You have to go to the Create/Edit Resource page and re-enter all the TV values, unless they contain the TV's default value. [ed. note: BobRay last edited this post 14 years, 11 months ago.]

Not sure if @BobRay's suggestion solved the issue for you, but another suggestion would be to make sure your Form Customizations are made for both "Create" and "Update"...

thanks for all your help, yea was as simple as update and create ! Sorry to have troubled everyone on that with such a simple miss !
