Is anyone aware of any software in which I am able to edit my current templates?

Also I am planning on using the new full page template to create pages which will attract traffic to the website using key words and optimization. We do not want the pages to be found on our main website but we would like these landing pages to be set out differently as the main page, hence the new template. Is the above possible?

Your templates are stored in the database. If you use Firefox, you can use its "it's all text" plugin to edit the template's text in your favorite text editor.

If you are referring to software that writes the MODX tags, I am unaware of any that does that. I use Aptana Studio: http://aptana.org/ to code my templates/chunks/snippets. You may want to review how to make a template in the docs. I also wrote an article on creating a template: http://www.joshua19media.com/modxtutorials/creating-a-modx-revolution-template.html it should answer some questions.

Creating unique landing pages - Yes. You can either create new templates for one that has custom navigation or assuming you are using Wayfinder simply mark the Landing page Resource as Hidden from the menu in the page settings.

        Hope that helps.
