Yes, we have a web context as well. Will test as soon as possible just to verify.
So this resource update processor works in the back end but not the front end I take it?

Verified, happens in the web context as well.
Yes, the resource processor is part of the MODX core.
As a workaround, you should be able to include all the TVs in the &show property and hide them with CSS (don't make them read-only), though it's not very convenient.
If there's no bug fix for this, I'll try to modify the NP code to work around it, but that may not happen for a while.
