Hope this isn't going to turn out to be one of my dumb questions! Fingers crossed, here goes...
I was wondering if there is a good site for people to share MODX themes/site templates?
By Theme I mean a comprehensive Package that has some solid niche functionality, for example an 'Illustrator's Artwork Portfolio Site'.
e.g, someone installs the 'IlustratorArtworkPortfolio' Package and it has everything they need?
I'd love to see something along the lines of a Modx equivalent of Woothemes...
http://www.woothemes.com
Couldn't find anything that really stood out in Google myself…
I was thinking that it could help the Modx adoption curve if there was a site with some really nice boilerplate Themes to tempt hobbyists and start up businesses into using Modx, who might otherwise go with Wordpress and Co (by making it easy for them).
I think there could be good incentives for people in the Modx community to contribute and collaborate on Themes, and it would benefit them by being a portfolio example of their Modx experience.
Does anyone else think there is any merit in this, or does it exist already?
If the answer is yes and no, would anybody(s) be interested in collaborating on something like that
(subject to it being OK with the Modx core team of course)? - Or have any thoughts on why it could be a bad idea etc?
I'm just thinking it would be nice to beat the curve of other theme sites (e.g,
http://themeforest.net) picking up on Modx and perhaps handling it badly, or not doing it justice.
Anyhow, appreciate any ideas/comments.
Best,
Danny
