    Hi,

as in this topic, I have problems importing my local SQL dump into the production server, because PHPMYADMIN throws an error:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax near ’COMMENT ’determine whether the document group is private to manager users’,
    `p’ at line 10

The dump was created with PHPMYADMIN in compatibility mode MySQL 3.

I don’t want to remove the comments from the dump if I don’t have to, there must be a solution? If you need more info, please let me know.

First, you going to need to add the AUTO_INCREMENT directives back in to that dump (in my experience using MySQL 3 compatibility from phpMyAdmin). Second, I believe removing the comments (or not exporting them) is your best bet; certains versions of MySQL choke on those for sure...

        Hi,

        thanks for your reply.

I switched the production database from MySQL 3.23 to 4.1.x plus the compatibility mode of the SQL dump and the import went through without a hitch.
