    Hey you guys,
I had a quick question. Our site, lifewater.org is running Modx version 1.0.4. I noticed that the newest version, I think, is 2.3.1. I was wondering how would I go about upgrading? I heard that the newer version has an easier to use UI on it? Also, is there any risk of the site not working properly after I upgrade? Feel free to reference the site if you think it will help. Thank you in advance for your help with a newbie. I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, there is no direct upgrade path at this point between 1.x and 2.x versions. You should, however, upgrade to MODX 1.0.5.

          Hello John,

The upgrade process is fairly straight forward, backup the current site, upload the updated files, and then run the installer in upgrade mode. It shouldn't take very long to do as most of the process is waiting on the upload. It can be done with little to no downtime.

If you wanted to upgrade the site to Revolution, that can be done, however the process is manual and depending on the size of the site (page count) can take some time.

If you need any help with upgrading or want to talk more about switching to Revolution let me know (or just post back)
