I am brand new to Modx (having worked exclusively in other CMS's before). I just got a call from someone who uses this for help and I am trying to see what I can do. We have lost an entire section of our site, "about us". It is no longer in the resource tree. I have been basically giving myself a crash course in Modx in the last few days and have been checking resource groups, permissions etc but I don't see anything out of order that would make these pages disappear. i still see them in the database dump.

I am logged in as a superadmin and I believe I have access to everything. I was able to check past recent actions and all i see that my friend had done was deleted a file and then undeleted it. (It was referred to as "Title of Blog Post (2)" I don't see any change was made to permissions that would make a section disappear.

We are running MODx Revolution 2.0.8-pl (traditional). If anyone would like I can PM the site address.

    Any ideas?

Any help with this is really really appreciated!!!!!!

The first thing to try is deleting all files in the core/cache directory and clearing your browser cache.

The only normal operation that would hide resources from the admin is putting them in a resource group and connecting that resource group with a user group (that the admin is not a member of) with a Resource Group Access ACL entry. If that happened, one quick fix is to add the admin user to all user groups with a role of Super User.

Thanks much for the tips Bob. I tried flushing the cache and that didn't work. There were no resource groups created originally ... I just created a new one called "all access" but the tree on the right where I can choose what to access doesn't have the missing pages either.

I actually just found the problem. The pages had been assigned to each other as parents.

Having the same problem. The other day I created a page, did not put it in any resource group and assigned it some template variables that we take the values of like so to make them appear on other pages:

                [[getResourceField? &id=`165` &field=`beanfieldInternet` &processTV=`1`]]

I'm a super user and I cannot find document 165. Cleared cache in system and manually, flushed permissions, flushed sessions. Still no luck.

Where would I look in the database for this document?

The solution "I actually just found the problem. The pages had been assigned to each other as parents." doesn't explain how this was discovered. Are there any more details?

The only thing installed since we created this document was 2.2.8.

Never mind. Upon examining the logs we see that the client erased the document for some reason so all is fine, in terms of seeing resources.

Don't know if this issue can be seen as a bug, but filed it anyways: http://tracker.modx.com/issues/9983
