Hi all,
I have a minor issue that may end up being a bug that I wanted to run by everyone.
I'm on Revo 2.1.3, and the system setting tree_default_sort is set to pagetitle (for client's ease). I have a number of top-level resources, with specific menuindex values so that Wayfinder will sort them properly on the front end. One of these top level resources has a number of children resources who themselves have children resources. The issue comes from dragging and dropping one of these tertiary resources from one secondary child to another. So resource A has children B and C, and resource B has child D. If I drag and drop D into child C, resource A and all of its siblings' menuindexes are scrambled, thus putting the navigation on the front end all out of order and my client in a tizzy. I haven't yet figured out the logic behind what they are scrambled to; it appears to be the same every time.
There are two easy work-arounds (which is why I feel this is minor). The first is to set tree_default_sort back to its default value of menuindex. The second is to move resource D into resource C by using the "Parent Resource" field on the edit page instead of dragging and dropping. Because the latter works, I think this behavior is a bug. I would expect that they would work the same.
Has anyone else run into this? Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure, but I think that's expected behavior. It's sort of assumed that you would use menuindex to sort your menus in the front end and that if you drag things around, you want to change their menu order as well.
Changing a parent for one resource won't do that because you're not operating on the Resource tree.
If you *are* using menuindex in the front end and the front-end menu doesn't match what the Resource tree looks like in the Manager (after clearing the cache), then it really is a bug.
