I'm very new to modx and have very limited web design skills. Modx Evolution is the version installed by my webhost. I've changed the name of my site everywhere it seems obvious, but the title at the top of my webpages still has Modx. Is there something I'm missing. I've followed the instructions found to change it (I think), but it isn't working. I'm think I missed something somewhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

That is set in the Configuration (Tools->Configuration); it's the very first field. It's used in a number of places automatically, and can be inserted wherever you want it to appear using

Thanks for the quick reply. I have already changed the site name in the configuration settings, but it didn't change the name on the published webpages. That's why I'm thinking I've missed something somewhere else. Any other advice would be helpful.

        Thanks

          Check the template's < title > tag.

And clear the cache (Site -> Clear Cache), although changing the site name in the Configuration should have automatically cleared the cache.

Are you referring to Manager pages, or front-end pages?

I'm referring to the front end pages. My site is www.bethsobsessions.com if you want to take a look. I've cleared the cache several times. I'm not sure where to check the < title > tag.

              Thanks for your patience.

Beth, that's an image pulled in for the 'logo' element on line 74 of layout.css:

                assets/templates/modxhost/layout.css

The Firefox FireBug addon is your friend for stuff like this.

Ah, I thought you meant the title, at the top of the browser window, where the content of the HTML < title > tag is displayed!

In Safari, if you enable the Develop features, you can right-click on anything and select "Inspect Element" to get many of the features of the Firefox Firebug addon.

You can also get used to looking a the "view source" option in your browser (usually in the "View" menu of the browser's menu bar) to see what is actually being displayed.

This article may help you to understand how your MODx template is working. The "MODxHost" template is probably not the best one to use for learning, it's very old and always was rather obscure. I don't like too much cleverness in a template, it makes it harder to grasp exactly what it's doing.
