Porting a simple plugin from evo to revo

Hello all,

I'm trying for the first time to get an evo plugin working on revo, but I will admit I'm not that familiar with it yet to just start poking around, so here is hoping someone can offer me some directions.

In my evo sites I use this "CustomAlias" plugin from evo which works great, since there are many non-standard characters in my language I can't just allow in the URL.

This is the plugin:

I'm just not entirely sure how the functions differ from evo to revo to know exactly the adjustments which are required to make it work.

I'm hoping someone is able to provide some assistance with this.

This sounds a lot like transalias unless I am missing something?

Go to System -> System Settings and type 'alias' in the search box at the upper right, then hit 'enter'. There are a number of options that might do all the work for you.

A follow up question, while the above works for me as I can get accents removed from posts I noticed some of my page titles still have other characters as $ and , among others which I wouldn't want on the alias. So I am guessing I need to update the regex on the settings as suggested by BobRay to fix that.

I'm not entirely familiar with RegEx just yet (I plan on reading about it tonight) am I correct to assume I need to filter those additional characters by modifying the RegEx? or am I completely confusing how this works?
