Form Customization - Weblink Constraint

Hey there Revo experts..

Wondering if there's some type of bug with Form Customization in 2.1.3 that effects using Weblinks as a constraint? My constraint field is set to "class_key" and my constraint is set to "modWebLink".

I have no template set so that it will apply to all weblinks, but unfortunately it seems to be working "better" than I expected and it is effecting all resources whether I like it or not..

Any ideas?

I just tried it and it worked fine for me.

The settings in screenshots only work if I choose "New Weblink".

In my particular instance..I'm trying to add this for the Update action. Is there any reason to think that it wouldn't work for updating just as well?

For me, the settings I choose work just fine..it just doesn't "constrain" at all and instead applies the settings to all resources when updating.

Hmm, for me, it sticks to only Weblinks while editing.

Can you try deleting the rules and creating them again? (you dont have to delete, just deactivate the old)

OR, may be identical sets are overlapping each other?

So, I tried this on a "vanilla" install of MODX and it works fine. Everything is constrained how it should be. I'm going to have to assume that there are overlapping permissions as you suggested.

I went through and basically started over and got it working although my customization sets are identical to the previous sets so far as I can see. I've always felt the form customization system to be a little "quirky" seeing as they are (as I understand it) javascript based, and simply modify the DOM after it's fully loaded. I've never really much cared for that approach. I think I just got a little bit out of hand with FC's and probably should have created a CMP instead.

Lesson Learned: Don't use to many form customizations...they get messed up.
