PrettyGallery - page is blank | MODX Community Forums

Hello, I am using MODX Revolution 2.1.3-pl and have successfully installed the basic "Gallery" addon for MODX Revolution and have a gallery running and looking pretty good.

Now I am trying to use another gallery addon called PrettyGallery (http://modx.com/extras/package/prettygallery)which extends the original "Gallery" into a lightbox gallery. I followed the instructions and created a new Resource, selected the "PrettyGallery" template from the template drop down, and under the "Template Variables" tab I selected the gallery I uploaded under the "Album Selector" dropdown.

I followed the directions exactly (and re-did it several times) and when I preview the PrettyGallery gallery, it outputs a blank page with the following HTML:

So it looks like its not printing any javascript or code to the page. Any ideas? Everything looks good in the admin, its just not printing out the PrettyGallery code...

Are you using the pretty gallery template on this page or are you using your custom template?

Do you have a live link I can check?

I don't have a link, I'm running it locally.

To answer your question, yes I am using the pretty gallery template on this page. Any ideas?

Sounds to me like the if plugin is not installed, go to the package manager and uninstall it, then force remove it and make sure all traces of it are deleted from the core packages folder.

Then download the if plugin again and install it.

Let me know if that works for you.

The best way to test if this is in fact the problem in the prettyGallery template delete or comment the 3 if tags and insert


[[$prettyGalleryCss]]

In your head tag.


[[$prettyGallery]]

In you body and


[[$prettyGalleryScripts]]

Before the closing body tag and test it if it works it's definitely the if extra that didn't install properly.

I had the same problem and adding the "if" extra package made it work.

I'm just getting started with MODX myself, and while I am really falling in love with it (especially in light of all the other LAMP CMS packages I have tried) I have noticed a weakness in the package management interface: it does not do any kind of dependency checking. Dependency checking (and enforcement) is a standard feature of package management tools for virtually all Linux distributions, and is also a feature of Windows 'setup' and 'msi' installer utilities. Perhaps this has already been addressed in development, I'll guess I'll jump in and figure out where the issue tracking is for this project...

@zachofalltrades I don't think it's a MODX problem it might be a packman extra problem, I have noticed that in a few packages I've created of nivogallery for beta testers it would not include the if package.

I installed Pretty Gallery, along with it i installed if snippet too.

but still its blank
