Can you look at this site.
http://corz.org/serv/tools/anti-hammer/
its a anti-hammer script in PHP that basically writes a session variable of your user ID and then if you hit a site to fast it increments a counter on your ID and when you hit a certain number, like 5 or 10, it bans you for 5 minutes, or 10 minutes or forever.
its basically a gatekeeper to prevent chinese hackers from spamming your site for crap like
/scripts/phpadmin.php
/scripts/blahblah.php
where they just hit a random list of directories hoping to get your site.
i'd like to ban them!
now the problem is that the anti-hammer needs to be a gatekeeper. so basically it uses php prepend on your .htaccess file and when i use modX, it causes problems.. as in the site doesn't work...
can someone take a look at it and see if there is a workaround? maybe we need to load it in modX? and create a modX type plugin that prevents hammering?
since its PHP that sounds like it might work?
maybe its even easier than i suspect?
ok let me know! thanks!
