I don't think testiphone.com does what you think it does. I don't think it changes the browsers user agent which in turn will always show the standard version.

In order to test the mobile version you will need to download a FireFox or Chrome extension that changes the user agent.

That is why "responsive" design is preferable; rather than depending on an ever-changing list of possible user agents or agent types, it depends on the actual width of the browser.

Has anyone had any issues with this mobile detection plugin working correctly with certain tablets?

Even when the iPad setting is switched to "no", while iPhone and all_other_mobile is switched to "yes", but there are still issues?

For instance, the above settings are set for my site, and you can view the actual website on an iPad (which is correct) but then on a Kindle Fire HD or a Nexus 7, it is showing the mobile site (but should be showing the website, since the iPad setting is switched to "no").

My mobile site works fine and dandy on a smart phone, and the website works properly, but it's just the tablet issue that I'm having, when it should be showing the website on all tablets (not the mobile site).. if someone could help that would be great. Thanks in advance! smiley

That has been the problem with browser or device detection since the beginning of web development. It's a never-ending stream of new devices, with new operating systems, and each one has to do something to make it different from the others. This all too often means that any detection methods are obsolete before they're even implemented. What triggers "ipad" detection now may or may not work with the next version of iOS, and may or may not work on any other devices.

That is the generality. The specifics of your case I can't advise because I just don't know. But maybe somebody else does; we can only hope so.
