    Hi,

    I'm having a highly annoying problem with a modx installation I have running on a Centos5 webserver. Having spent many fruitless hours trying to find someone else describing the problem I having and failing I'm hoping some Modx guru can shed a little light on what could be causing this problem...

    The installation works fine until you update a page or snippet ect in the manager at which point the site appears to output the wrong site_url ( [[++site_url]] generates just http:/// ) for all pages the server gives out - meaning most links to images and stylesheets become invalid (...and it pretty much makes the site unusable.)

    has anyone any idea what could be causing this?

    The problem can be overcome usually by a Site>Clear Cache command from the manager. But this becomes quite tedious especially for clients if they need to update the site.

    The site isnt very complex and theres a handful of basic common packages ive also installed. Other than that its no different to a standard installation.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Darren

      Try making the site_url settings tag use a non-cacheable token for setting the base href in your Template's head element, e.g.

      <base href="[[!++site_url]]">

        Thanks opengeek,

        ...Seems to have done it - thanks for the tip!

        I'm not sure why its necessary on this install and not on the several other modx installs I have worked on before but seems to do the trick.
