When I click on the Files Tab that appears next to Elements, the only thing listed is a top level folder called "Files" with nothing else. However, when I click on the MODX Browser icon I can see the full list of folders, so I am pretty sure the file manager path is ok.

When I browse into the assets folder via the MODX Browser, I can not see images in folders where there are definitely image. I just get "No files match the specified filter".

This is a new server setup, all else is working. I thought it might be ImageMagick, but I've installed that and still have the problem. Ideas?

Running 2.1.3-pl (traditional), PHP 5.3.6 -w- CGI/FastCGI, MySQL 5.1.56, eAccelerator, imageMagick, GD Support

Update: Tried to re-run setup over the top of the install. Didn't help. [ed. note: bmilton last edited this post 15 years ago.]

Created a new user with full admin privileges - same problem.
Tried setting wide open permissions on folders and files - no change.

Completely deleted /core/cache folder. Cleared browser cache, Flushed modx Permissions and Sessions. Tried IE 9 , Firefox, Chrome. No Help. [ed. note: bmilton last edited this post 15 years ago.]

:Grasping for ideas...looking over PHPInfo details I noticed these setting under PHP Variables

          _REQUEST["ys-ext-gen247"] s:/Files/assets/images/common
          _REQUEST["ys-modx-resource-tree"] a:s%3A/root^s%3A/root/web_0/web_1^s%3A/root/web_0
          _REQUEST["ys-modx-leftbar-state"] o:activeTab=n%3A2
          _REQUEST["ys-ext-gen183"] s:/Files/assets/images/common
          _REQUEST["ys-ext-gen178"] s:/Files/assets/images/common
          _REQUEST["ys-modx-file-tree"] s:/Files
          _COOKIE["ys-ext-gen247"] s:/Files/assets/images/common
          _COOKIE["ys-modx-resource-tree"] a:s%3A/root^s%3A/root/web_0/web_1^s%3A/root/web_0
          _COOKIE["ys-modx-leftbar-state"] o:activeTab=n%3A2
          _COOKIE["ys-ext-gen183"] s:/Files/assets/images/common
          _COOKIE["ys-ext-gen178"] s:/Files/assets/images/common
          _COOKIE["ys-modx-file-tree"] s:/Files

Is it normal to have cookies set for these? Why are these prepended with s:/ ?

what host OS is the server (*nix, Win, other)? When you stated you created a new user and changed permissions what tool or method are you using (FTP, SSH, other)?

Looks like you've covered the base as it is normally a permissions issue that I've run into when this occurs, so just trying to get some more details. If possible can you post the output of the top level directory listing with permissions and ownership?

            Cheers

Host is CentOS 6 x64 with Cpanel 11.30.46

Yes, It sure seems like a permissions issue. When I was changing File Permissions, I was just changing them on the folders and files viewable from the modx browser. Now I've set everything in public_html to 777 using FileZIlla FTP.

Even at 777 set on every folder and file for the site I still can not see any actual files listed in the modx browser, just folders. Owner/Group is 500/500 on all.

I'm still confused about the PHP handler configuration. I've been trying to run fcgi so I could use eAccelerator. I'm going try running with suPHP and 755/644 permissions and see if this is any different.

Rebuilt Apache using EasyApache - removed fcgi and eAccelerator from build. Configured PHP5 handler as SuPHP and set permissions to 755/644.

                Problem is still the same.

Have you tried to repush all the files to the server, might just be a corrupt file somewhere causing this. Happens more than one would think, so worth a try at this point.

                  Cheers

Good suggestion. I decided to do a fresh install of modx from the original installer package. Backed up my DB and assets and removed all the modx files. Problem was resolved with the fresh install and after importing my database it is still working.

                    Thanks,
                    -Brian
