Simplest way would be to create a page similar to a 'Contact Me' page (try the formIt extra for revo - there is I believe an example of a basic contact page) and have the 'Thank You' page have a link to the White Paper download - use the extra fileLister if you do not want the explicit path to the white paper known. Alternatively the download could be automatic after hitting the thank you page.
If you want to ensure that the email is real you could:
Use formIt again and email the White Paper as an attachment to the email provided - not sure of all the repercussions of sending email with attachments to fake emails from spambots filling out your form.
or
Send an email to the email provided with a link to the white paper download - ideally this would be a 'use once link' something like those created by fileLister.
This last method would I am sure require some php programming - not sure how much. FileLister does create unique hashed links to files (i.e. if you reload a page created with the help of filelister it creates different links to a file each time - I have no idea whether these links could be emailed to someone and be valid once or forever - I suspect they only work from the page that they were created on or with a valid cookie.
All depends on how much you care about getting a valid email from a download of a White Paper, and how much bother you are willing to create for your downloaders

Yep - that would be my choice if the White Paper was not considered 'very valuable' - I would probably try to make it happen automatically though - one less click!
