    Hello,

I'm new to MODx and using it to build a site.

I've come across a use case where I want to display an archive of files, which is essentially a bunch of newsletters, by date.

Are there any good plug-ins/chunks/modules that will crawl a directory structure and dump the contents (files) in a nice format?

    Thanks,
    Steve

I don't know of an extra for that, but it should be relatively easy to do with a snippet. Are the files all in one directory, or is there a hierarchy? I have some code that does it for files in a single directory where the file names contain the year and month if that would work for you.

For revolution there is also fileLister

Pretty sure it does what you need, though I'm not totally sure what you mean by:
dump the contents (files) in a nice format?
but if the file is something a web browser can display (html, pdf, jpg etc) then this extra provides a hashed link to the file that opens it when clicked, or downloads if not (for example a MS Word file - .doc).
I bet it could be customized to do more - I have not had the need so have not tried.
