I have a list of events which I've created several TVs for (date, month, venue etc.). I'd like to sort the list by date ideally but because the dates weren't going to be easy (ie some might be 8th-9th October) I've added a 'sort' TV which I've used to numerically sort each event (ie 0 first, 10 2nd event etc.). I've used the sortby call in getresources but it's still reading the TV as a string and not an integer. How do I convert the string to the integer before getresources sorts it?
The code I have for the getresources call:

&includeTVs=`1`
&showHidden=`1`
&limit=`40`
&tpl=`eventTpl`
&sortbyTV=`event_sortorder`
&sortdirTV=`ASC`
