    Hi everyone.

I'm having an issue with trying to use a TV instead of a chunk, because the TV will be more easier for users to access and make changes, as I wouldn't want anyone editing or jacking with the chunks.

With that said, for some reason when I place the code in the chunk and call the chunk within my template, it works just fine.

When I take that same exact code and place it in my TV, and call that TV within the template, the output is off a little. As I troubleshot for hours, I've come to realize that when I place the code in the TV, using the HTML editor because the Input is set to "rich text", it removes part of the code:
    <div class="clear"></div> </div> </div>
which stays exactly the same in the chunk, now becomes
    </div> </div> </div>
in the TV once the HTML editor is updated.

Can someone please tell me what I've done, or did not do?

Well, looks like I got it partially solved. I changed the "Input Options" of the TV from "rich text" to plain "text".

Now my code stays the same as when inputted, and the output on the site looks exactly the same as original template (great).

But now back to the delima of it not being user friendly for others to edit, as there is now a bunch of HTML code in the TV, instead of the "rich text" gui sad

I've also noticed this tendency of the rich text editor to "improve" your code when you save it. Because of that, you really don't want to use it for anything that you intend to code directly. If you can get the same layout using the editor instead of hand-coding it, I'd go with that.

Otherwise, you might want to try to separate your TV into multiple TVs, one for each part of the page, and put the code in the template or in a chunk. You could even pass the TV values into the chunk as arguments, to save having to write separate chunks for each bit of code.

I don't know if that's feasible in your case, I don't know how many divs of content you have or how configurable you want it to be.

If you want it to be completely configurable by users using only the rich text editor, you'll probably have to create it using the rich text editor.

thanks freejung, so far I have about 5 tv's created for this home page, not counting the "resource content".

I'll try and see if I can get same layout the way you suggessed using the rich text editor, but seems to me there will be lots of room for error doing it that way.

I mean, copying and pasting the hard code into html seems so convenient smiley
