    Dear all,

    I wonder if someone out there will be able to help. I have recently been passed the maintenance of a clients website (after the original developers went bust). The site uses Modx 0.9.6.3.

    I have no experience of Modx other than a few minor site tweaks in recent weeks.

    The problem is that the website has 2 dynamic content pages (events and vacancies) in 2 different sections which when viewed in IE do not display the content at all. Pages are all fine in Safari, Mozilla and Chrome. Just IE which is causing the problems.

    IE problem pages are:
    http://www.ccpscotland.org/vacancies/unit-administrator-information-assistant

    http://www.ccpscotland.org/hseu/training/events

    file structure has a few css files contained within Styles folder; ie.css, ie6.css, ie7.css, but no ie8.css or ie9.css. I wonder if this is the problem??

    There is a Chunk in place for Styles and the content is as follows:
    <link rel="Shortcut Icon" type="image/ico" href="/favicon.ico" />
    <link href="[(site_url)]/styles/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="/styles/print.css" type="text/css" media="print" />
    <!--[if lt IE 8]>
    	<link href="[(site_url)]/styles/ie7.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    <![endif]-->
    <!--[if IE]>
    	<link href="[(site_url)]/styles/ie.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    <![endif]-->

    Can anyone tell me what if there should be an ie8 and ie9 css files in place. If so what should they contain?

    Any help at all on this would be very much appreciated. As I mentioned I'm a total newbie when it comes to Modx.

    Many thanks

      The worst that could happen if a .css file isn't found is that the content would be displayed without styling.

      If the page content doesn't appearl in IE, then it's something else. Perhaps some javascript that isn't compatible. NetRenderer renders the masthead, main menu and part of the first item. Something in the content is breaking IE. Take a look at the View Source and see if the whole page is loaded, just not being displayed.

      I'm a Mac user, so I can't really be of much more help than that.

      [edit]Wow! I found this in the source in the pages in question, right where the display stops huh

        I've just fixed a similar issue on a MODX site where someone had been pasting content in from a recent version of Word with all that erroneous code. The good news is only IE9 chokes on it, the bad news is you have to edit each page using the Rich Text Editor in html view and remove it.

          Does pasting from Word using the "Paste from Word" button in the Rich Text Editor remove this stuff? (can't test it for myself since I don't have Word).
