we have a site (or 3) a programmer has started for us, only he's off for a month's holiday... so apologies for simple questions.
He's partway through 3 sites, and they all have the same issue, which is if i go to edit a page, and highlight a few words in the Resource Content section, then the link icon, and then the little browse icon, in the popup window where there is the list of folders belonging to the site (ie 'assets', 'core' etc), if i click on one i have created called 'forms', nothing happens over on the right, and it doesn't expand (i definitely have forms in there). If i click on forms though, then upload a new form into it, lo and behold i get to see all the other forms that are in there. I asked the programmer many times about this and he said he thought it was a modx bug. my other thoughts are permissions(?) or even hosting security. does anyone have any ideas? not sure clients will be too happy with it like this.
another quick question is there's a News page that uses getResources for its articles. it is:

i'd like it to order the news items based on the Menu Index number. have looked around and tried various &sortOrder and &sortBy options and nothing seems to change. would also like it if i could use that template for other situations and replace the `10` from the parents with the id of the page it sits under. Tried `[*id*]` only it didn't work...? would really appreciate any help with any of those things.
while we're at it, if there are any developers around who want to finish off some very messy sites...
