Is MODx made for me ?

Hi all,

I’m a french developer and I must create a site with multilanguage support.

On my site :

- a lot of content pages
- a news area
- a calendar
- a directory
- a gallery
- a contact form
- a member area with specific content pages
- a download area

I don’t want to program all functionnality.
Are there any modules for each functionnality I cite ?

I create few sites with Joomla! but I’m really disapointed !
This CMS generate non accessible code, the modules are not qualitative, ... !

MODx looks like really hopefull.
If it satisfies my requirements, I adopt it !

Here’s a few pointers of what’s readily available. Just look through the repository

- a lot of content pages - As long as you keep it below a couple of thousand there should be no problem. Above that you may run into some caching bottlenecks in the current version. This is being worked upon and will be much improved in versions to come.

Some snippets:
- a news area - Ditto - installed by default
- a gallery - Maxigallery
- a contact form - eForm - installed by default
- a member area with specific content pages - native
- a download area - FileDownload
- a calendar -There’s a snippet for this too somewhere, probably called Calendar (some people are truly creative in their naming)

As for multilingual solutions do a search through the forums. MODx is not yet natively supporting multilingual sites but there are several solutions floating around in the forums.
