cannot log in

i am a first time modx user and i have never been able to log in to my administrator at all EVER. i know the user name (admin) and password are correct. i have read several posts and subsequently deleted and reinstalled. my os is win7 and i installed using webmatrix.

please help

It should work with the username and password you provided during the install. Note that these are not the same as the DB username and password. Try using only numbers and letters in the username and password.

i know i am using the correct password for sure

im not sure what im supposed to do here but i made the following changes:
1. added the following lines of code to my ht.access files in the root and /manager directories

2. changed both file names to .htaccess

result: no change in problem

Is this a windows server using IIS?

yes on my win7 os laptop

What versions of IIS, PHP and MySQL are running?
I am also having troubles with installing Evo via WebPI (WebMatrix uses WebPI) on my Win 7. But the problem is different than yours.
