Fastest way to backup?

What's the fastest way to backup a modx site?

Usually I make an SQL dump of the database (pretty fast) and I manually copy the files from ftp to local folder (Very slooooow since they are light but are so many files.).

I don't have SSH access to most servers I work on, is there a way to make a package/copy of the entire installation and to remount it when I need to pull it back on another server?
I do that with "akeeba backup" on joomla (wich I don't likes much, but have to work with since some clients wants it), and I find it very useful and powerful for backups. Is there something similar on modx revo??
