the preview function of
the admin system isn't working properly. We are forced to save the updates
~ so every change needs to be made live to see it.
that is not how preview is supposed to work.
if i open a web page, i edit the text and then hit preview (upper right
corner) the page shows the old page.
If i hit save then hit the preview (upper right corner) the page shows the
new page with my text edits.
i don't believe that is correct.
Has anyone had the same problem? How do we fix?

There is and never has been a "Preview" function in the MODX manager (it has been changed to "View" in the latest releases to avoid this confusion). It has been requested many times and will hopefully be added to a release in the not too distant future.
