First let me start by saying I think the TinyMCE available for MODx is phenomenal and very robust.
I've seen a couple articles that brought this issue up around the community forums, but they are all very old and without good solution to date.
So my question is how do you change a single word font color easily from Rich Text view of TinyMCE?
I understand how to use the span tag and add a
to any letter, word or block but isn't there, or why isn't there, an option to easily change a highlighted word to a different color using the TinyMCE? It seems to cover a vast selection of other editing tools well beyond a simple color change. Did this functionality get overlooked?
For me personally this is not an issue as I am fluent with HTML and CSS but from the perspective of clients that designers would offer the MODx platform too so that they have the capability to log into their site and make simple page changes this is an issue. They most likely don't have the ability to code in HTML and CSS, and really we wouldn't want them to anyway.
I can see that there is the ability with TinyMCE to adjust the whole selected block within a set tag but why is there no option to change just the highlighted text. A one click option would be nice but even having the capability to wrap highlight text in a selected tag without having to pull up the HTML view would be great. From there you could adjust the font color with the current TinyMCE font settings easily. This would still take some knowledge of adding a basic tag but nominal compared to a novice looking at HTML.
Are there any plans to add this seemingly basic capability to TinyMCE? If not is there another solution?
