Hi, I am back grin

One last query...

redirecting with 301...
http://www.domain.tld/home to http://www.domain.tld/

I tried the "redirect permanent /home http://www.domain.tld/ but then the redirected url looks like...
http://www.domain.tld/?home

the above statement was the last statement in the htaccess after "RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]"

Hi again,

add theese lines just after RewriteBase

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} home/.*
RewriteRule ^home/(.*)$ $1 [R=301,L]

Hope it works!

Hi,

Tried the suggestion...
the url remains the same ( i.e. http://domain/home )

This is what the log says

127.0.0.1 - - [01/Apr/2007:10:55:40 +0530] "GET /home HTTP/1.1" 200 3943

Hi the rule i gave will convert all adresses that have "home" in them to ones without (eg. http://domain/home/page2 to http://domain/page2) so it skips http://domain/home (no trailing slash). Change the rule to the following and it should work:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} home/?.*
RewriteRule ^home/?(.*)$ $1 [R=301,L]
