Hi there,
i am deeply desperated by the simple task to add a newsletter-subscribe-form to my website.
What i need is the following:
- - a form for an emailadress
- - if sent, check if it's a valid emailadress, send a double-opt-in-email and enter adress to database
- - if double-opt-in-link is clicked, set the emaildress to validated
I do have all that programmed and working in php, but in modx i dont get the easiest steps done. (O.K. - i managed to create a simple form with formit. But then i was stuck again.)
Since this is not really a question but more a call for help, i'd like to ask if
a) anyone has done this before and would be willing to share his knowledge
or
b) if anyone ran over a simple step-by-step tutorial on this subject for complete no-brainers like me. (Working with formit or with forms in modx)
And please don't refer to rtfm.modx.com, since these "examples" may be for rocketscientists, but sadly not for me.
