    Simple question here. Whenever the docs mention using the base URL tag in your templates, it's formatted like this:

    <base href="[[+site_url]]" />

    The trouble is, this doesn't validate in HTML 4.01 Strict - the trailing slash throws "character data not allowed here."

    It validates, and seems to work fine, like this:
    <base href="[[+site_url]]">

    Any thoughts?

      Or you could do this:
      <base href="[[!++site_url]]"></base>

      But I've gone HTML5 and not looking back smiley

        Personally I'm a bit apprehensive about jumping into HTML5 when you still have to use Modernizr or some comparable Javascript for compatibility on certain browsers smiley
