      Navigate to the search page and have a look at the url. It should be something like yoursite.com/manager/?a=46.
      46 is the id of your search page.

      Create a new plugin call startPage or similar, replacing '46' with the id of your start page:
      <?php
      if ($modx->event->name == 'OnManagerLogin') {
          $path = $modx->getOption('base_url',null,MODX_BASE_URL);
          $modx->sendRedirect($path.'manager/?a=46');
      }

      Tick the OnManagerLogin System Event and then save the plugin. The next time you log in you will start on the search page.

      If you want to change it easily you could add a new System Setting called 'Manager Start Page' (key: manager_start_page) and change the plugin code to:
      <?php
      if ($modx->event->name == 'OnManagerLogin') {
          $path = $modx->getOption('base_url',null,MODX_BASE_URL);
          $modx->sendRedirect($path.'manager/?a='.$modx->getOption('manager_start_page'));
      }

      Note: The 'Home' link in the manager top bar will still go to the original welcome page. There's no apparent way to change this. [ed. note: okyanet last edited this post 15 years, 1 month ago.]

        I thought there was actually a setting that does that.... can't find it but pretty sure that was built in somewhere.

          Thank you so much Lucas.

          You always have the answers.

          Mark Hamstra: Yes I thought it was a setting that could be managed through UI, but couldn't find it..
