customEvent: trigger a plugin on gallery save?

With the gallery component:

Would it be possible without modifying its core, to create an event that fires a plugin?

Forexample: onGalleryFormSave

inside the plugin i would need the $galleryAlbumId

As a custom component I don't think you can use any of the System Events to trigger your plugin (like you could for saving a resource or chunk). You would probably have to find Gallery's 'create' and 'update' processors and add your code in there.

But it depends what you want to achieve... want to share some details?

I want to delete the custom full page cache pages for every resource that has the saved album selected.
