    :) hi Lucas,

    it's just that having been a jazz musician for nearly 40 years now, i'm quite intoxicated with swing and i do share the Duke's principle "it don't mean a thing if i ain't got that swing" then i think the least i can do it to wish everybody have some too, then...

          I think what I have is a little elegant, and it comes straight from Dan Cedarholm's Handcrafted CSS book.

          I use it to build my menu. In MODX is use a simple Text TV to insert into the rowTpl. The result is a simple list item that floats right and builds back out left if it's too long.

          <li><a href="websites.html" title="Websites"><em>Portfolio</em>Websites</a></li>

          the css floats the <em> tags to the right:
          ul.lst li em { float: right; margin: 0 0 0 5px; font-size: 1em;font-style: normal;font-weight: normal; color: #965f42;}

          Dan's original code was for a menu. That book has helped me solve all of my CSS issues and gives very elegant solutions that avoid extra lines of code, and certainly avoids tables.

          P.S. You can style the em tag differently than than the list item is styled with. Works like a span, and also a charm!
