Hi, I am new to MODx and would like to hear how people arrange their resource structure because I am having a wayfinder / menu / furl problem which is baffling me.

I've built our own website at http://www.evolve.uk.net. On the frontend I have three menus: utilities (top right), main and footer. In the backend i've created three containers 'Main menu', 'Utilities menu' and 'Footer menu' to hold each of the menu items / resources. Using wayfinder I start each menu from the containers resource ID.

All is well until I turn on furl, which is when I get URLs like this:
    http://www.evolve.uk.net/main-menu/security-online-payments/online-payments.html

I don't want the 'main-menu' container to appear. I have played around with all sorts of settings such as 'Hide From Menus', 'Published' and 'Container'. I've also tried this in the htaccess file, it does the job of removing the directory, but just sends me to the index page all the time:

    RewriteRule ^main-menu/ecommerce-websites/(.*)$ ecommerce-websites/$1 [R=301,L]

How do other people overcome this problem without making it difficult for their customers to maintain their website? Or how do I write the rewrite rule so it works?

    Thanks in advance, Andy

Can you post a screenshot of your tree menu?

I'm curious to see what main-menu is.
