Hello.
I am hosted on fatcow.com, I installed modx (2.0.6-pl) via simplescripts.com from the fatcow control panel. I have been trying to upgrade to 2.1.1-pl (or better if possible) manually since simplescripts does not offer it. I chatted with fatcow's 'customer support', but they were no help at all, and basically just said 'we only support what version is on simplescripts.
Here is where I currently am. I've cleaned the cache in the modx manager, made sure friendly urls was off and logged out. I then downloaded modx-2.1.1-pl.zip (traditional) and uploaded the zip to the fatcow server, extracted it via the control panel in fatcow (not cpanel), moved all the content of that extracted zip to the root (where all the 2.0.6 files were), went to /setup and got the '503 Error - Site Temporarily Unavailable'.
I tried to see if there was any help online and also tried a few things. i updated the php.ini file (which is what it is currently):
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
max_execution_time = 300 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (8MB)
uncommented and added the directory path (path_to_home_directory is the correct path, i omitted it here):
session.save_path = "/path_to_home_directory"
...
then with other attempts i did the following...deleted the .htaccess file, tried again with nothing in the .htaccess file (returned an internal error on the page..not like the pink modx 500 or 503 error page), and then i tried to put the ht.access file that came with release and renamed it .htaccess with the default values. and i'm getting the 503 Error page.
What am I doing wrong? I haven't found much help online, and figured I'd just ask in the forums here to see if anyone can help...i'm DESPERATE to get this fixed ASAP.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP AT ALL!!!
Patiently waiting for any advice
