Back when I first started messing around with permissions, I added a template to a category, then screwed up and managed to completely remove my or anyone else's access to it by removing the category before I had assigned proper permissions. Now this template shows up in the "User Template" drop-down for an element, but it doesn't appear in the "Elements" tab for me to edit or remove from the system. And I can't recreate the category because the system knows it's already there -- just invisible.
How do I go about resolving this? I just want the template (and, preferably, the invisible associated category) gone.

If you have access to your database via phpmyadmin, locate the modx_access_category table and remove any records associated with the category. If this is the only category permissions you messed with, you can truncate (or empty the records from) the table completely.
Once you do this, you can either Flush All Sessions from the menu, or log out and back in to be able to access the Elements in that Category again.
I do have access to phpmyadmin, and I found the modx_access_category table... but truncating is not an option (i.e., the "Empty" button is faded out and unusable).
Ideas?

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood. If the Template is assigned to a non-existent Category, go to modx_site_templates and set the category column to 0 for the Template( s ) in question.
That worked perfectly. Thank you!
