Hello developers,
I moved my site from one domain to another which has many sub domains. manager and main homepage is working fine but no subdomain is working. it says "Server not found" and in error log it says "7995` was requested but no alias was located." when i see in manager resource is there.
can anyone tell me what all things i need to check / what all things are there which can affect this ?

Did you look into your config.core.php file I think it is to ensure the paths were okay? I am not 100% positive but I do remember I had to tweak a config file to get mine working. I am not at the right location to look - (at work so blocked) but when I get home I could check it out.
yes i have edited config.ph....my manager and front end is working fine...so i think config is fine.
Try renaming .htaccess to ht.access and turn Friendly URLs off in the Manager. If that fixes it, it's most likely a problem with your .htaccess file (most likely the rewrite base line).
ht.access file was already there....just turned off frienly urls and tried to run it after clearing cache...bu that also didnt work.
is there anything else that could coz this problem ?? annnny idea ?
i am not that much into server thing...but i have a doubt that is it possible to use subdomains link wih IP address like i am using ?? subdomain.173.122.122.12:2123 something like this.
is it wrong ??

I rarely get good results running on IP addresses, but that's cause the host sets some open_basedir restrictions if not accessing via the domainname.
You'll probably need to check how your subdomain is set up (DNS? virtual hosts? there's many ways to do that), and if those settings match the MODX settings. Assuming you're using contexts in the subdomain there.
Hello Mark,
Yes, i all the subdomains set are virtual using MODx contexts. is there any way i can make it work using IP address ??

Like I said - my host used to restrict *a lot* before the domain propagation and I never really bothered trying to get around all that.
If there's no restrictions in place like that in your case, you can try applying this great trick to "mask" it on a domain:
