This morning I was editing my home page (ID 1) content and attempted to place an image on the page with FCKeditor. When previewed it had placed an image holder on the page indicating that it had not correctly located the image url. I went back to edit the page , selected the bad image and deleted it. Then when I tried to save the page - I got an Object not found error. For every page. Somehow the FCKE deleted the index page to the site instead of just the image. Now I when in the Site tab and I select Preview all I get is a directory of the MODx root. Is there some way to recover from this without re-installing MODx?
Thanks,
Hal D

Using my DBManagerPro application, I was able to verify that all the content pages are still in theMODx DB modx_site_content table are still there. Obviously some file is missing - but which?
Thanks,

Want to know what fixed the problem
Lean close and I’ll whisper it in your ear -
I don’t know why it did that.

I tried to update FCKEditor to the 2.4 version and it failed. I could not get it to work under the Manager/editing. So I removed it and re-installed the older version 2.3.2 - or so I thought. When editing a document in the manager with it it seemed to work OK - until I attempted to place an image in the content. On browsing to the image, I clicked on the desired image and wham! It closed the browse window and never went to the image parameter window, and re-opened the edit window. The image was there only as a place holder indicating a bad url. So I right clicked on the image and deleted it. I saved the document and when I tried to preview it - nothing! All I got was "document not found" Oh! Oh! No amount of trying would get any document back. FCKEditor had evidently run amok and deleted index.php and index-ajax.php. I copied them from a backup folder and all is well again.
So for the time being - I don’t use FCKE until I can figure out how to fix the install.
