Partial Friendly URLs

Is it possible to set a branch of my document tree to not have a friendly url alias, when friendly urls are set. eg

Main Website Pages - alias = nothing
Page1
Page2
Client Pages - alias = client
Client1
Client2

Where url for Page1 = http://www.somedomain.com/page1.html and
url for Client1 = http://www.somedomain.com/client/client1.html

I have noticed if you don’t set the alias at the moment MODx uses the document number eg.
http://www.somedomain.com/1/page1.html

Also... to add. Is there a way of stopping the blank page when somebody types in http://www.somedomain.com/client

I would like it to redirect to the default page if possible (like it does if you type in a url that doesn’t exist) eg. http://www.somedomain.com/nosuchpage.html

Switch off "Friendly Alias Paths" in FURL configs.

If you want to send visitor to first child of the container, use [[FirstChildRedirect]] (please verify the name in Snippets tab).

Thank you for your response zi, but wont switching off "Friendly Alias Paths" result in all my paths becoming unavailable.

I just want one branch of my document tree to appear to be in the root directory, and all other files to appear under their own document path.

You’d need to move all docs to the site root then ... it’s not possible to selectively modify how each branch is built currently.

On second thought, maybe two calls building each section?

I’ve done that for a site map; if you style the lists carefully there’s no way to tell that it’s two separate lists of links.
