I’m feeling really stupid, but I can’t find the option to create a folder. All tutorials etc. show the context menu item "create folder here", but the context menu in my installation simply doesn’t show this menu item. Any ideas? Thanks!

A "folder" (or "container") is nothing more than a normal document that has children. You can check the box in the Page Settings tab, or simply make your "folder" document the parent of another document... instant folder.
To simplify, the menu item has been removed, and folders are now referred to as "containers".
