    Hi,

Just trying to clarify a couple of things, as I’m a little confused. I assume 096 is simply a minor bugfix followup to 095, but is 097 still on its way and is it not going to be based on the legacy code base?

    Thanks,
    Anton

096 is a lot more than a minor bugfix, but that’s semantics I suppose. 097 is still on track and will be based on the new xPDO core codebase. Changes to the manager in 095/096 have been applied to the 097 branch as well.

Thanks for clarifying. Sorry for the misconception re 096. For some reason I thought that 097 was to be the next release.

Is it envisaged that there will be 098 and 099 releases prior to 1.0?

0.9.6 was originally going to be 0.9.5.1, but we decided it was a little more than a patch release. It remains to be seen if there will be intermediate releases between 0.9.7 and 1.0. I think we’ll all have a clearer picture of the final 1.0 roadmap and schedule once we get everyone acclimated with the significant core changes 0.9.7 will be bringing with it.

I did a search for 0.9.7 but only came up with 3 threads so if this question is redundant, forgive me embarrassed. I assume you guys are still doing this on your free time in between your jobs, but is there a projected or "hoped for" release date, or month even? I just found out about MODx a week ago so I’m just curious when the next release could be expected. Thanks.

The next release is 096. 097 is slated after that, and you will not get a timeframe commitment on it from anyone. 096 is however in release candidate status, and you can look at the last release for a guildeline of what has happened historically for a comparison.

I have the latest svn version 0.9.6-RC2, but there are lotta bugs.
How do I get the 0.9.7 version? When will it be final (1,2,3,4months?)?

I’m very interested, because I’m planning a large scalable corporate site, that needs a good base!
And xPDO is definately a good base!

KeepUP guys! I will donate you when I finish that project.

Maybe you missed this part? Plus, RC-2 hasn’t been released yet, and the versions from SVN are always changing. You might want to make sure you have the latest build if you are planning on using any of these. Although, you might expect to see a preview release of 097 when it is ready. tongue

Some people are very impatient for the next stable version (I’m too). What does it mean for us?

modx isn’t a freaky project anymore, and not a tool for personal bloggers or people desired to self-expression only. It’s a very handy tool to build sites from small amount of information to

modx is grown up and popularly accepted (see http://burton.motorola.com/).
Dear core developers: keep calm about eagerness of us. We want to say: You are on the right way. Tnx.
