What is Menu indexing ?

i see this in the manager tools/config but have found nothing on it in my search through the forums what does it do ?

Exactly what it says:

Select ’Yes’ to turn on automatic menu index incrementing by default.

The first document you make (and the first document in a container/folder) will have a menu index of 0, and that will be incremented automatically for every document you create after that.
