[UPDATE] I see that several people have read my post below but no one has responded. Am I in the wrong forum? Is my question too vague or complicated? [/UPDATE]
I hope I’m posting to the right forum. If not I apologize for the mis-posting.
I have a client who would like a site that has multiple users who can log into their own account on the site and post various things (formatted reports as well as blog postings). These users would be able to customize their "section" to some extent (e.g. colors, images, etc.), and the site’s home page would show blurbs/intros of the most recent work of the latest 5 users to update content. Users would have to apply to be members of the site and post stuff but they would only be able to post to their own section of the site.
So what he wants is a kind of like myspace or youtube.
I’ve done a little playing with MODx Snippets and Templates (not very deeply yet) and I’m wondering how much deeper into MODx I might have to go to accomplish this. I’m just not sure where to start but am wondering if there are Snippets (or other MODx tools) that do pieces of what I want (e.g. allowing multiple users and limiting those users to their own areas for posting, changing CSS based on users content area, etc.).
Are there already Snippets or Chunks or TVs that might be combined to do something like this? I’m still not comfortable with TVs, but am willing to learn if that’s what is necessary.
Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

It could be done, but it would be rather complicated, involving distinct manger user/document groups for each user, and each user would need his own template with a document used as the CSS file.
Thank you Susan,
I was afraid that might be the answer. I get the sense that pretty much anything is possible with MODx but that some things are far enough beyond the basics that they would require a deeper knowledge of MODx than I posses.
Perhaps I should post this into another forum but I’m now wondering if there are any MODx forum members who would be willing to work on this project for pay. If so please email me and let me know. My client is eager to get started (as a matter of fact the project is overdue as I’ve been trying to figure out how to do it for a while) so the sooner the better. Is there another forum for "MODx work for hire"?
Thank you,
