Reading system setting from API and how MODx determines site url.

Could someone please tell me how to read the various system settings (detailed here: http://modxcms.com/modx-tags.html) from the modx api, so that I can use them in a snippet?

Also, does anyone know how modx determines the site url - as in [(site_url)] - because I’m fairly sure I’ve not told it the name of my modx directory at any point?

$url = $modx->config[’site_url’];

The Site URL is automatically determined using variables in the $_SERVER array. no configuration is required

If you want to see how it’s done, open up [tt]manager/includes/config.inc.php[/tt]

Thanks. I’m glad it’s parsed from the URL and not something I have to change if I alter the modx directory name - I just wanted to make sure that future migration would be easy.

The team is working hard to create a system that is easy to migrate from one site to another, so far they’ve been quite successful But it gets even better in future versions.
