Is there a better web signup?

Is there a better way to allow web users to signup than the WebSignup snippet... that is production ready?

I just tried using the signup and can’t get the CAPTCHA to show up and saw another post that there may be a bug in the code. (I’m using 0.9.5 and have GD support)

But it also doesn’t seem to post the country information correctly, at least on my one test.

I would also like to be able to, not required, but allow for the collection of more of the possible user information... phone, etc.

So has anyone worked out their own variation of this or is there something else that I’ve missed?

I looked at RegisterX, which I think is great, but is more limited and probably more suitable for simple newsletter type signups, which I think was probably Susan’s goal to begin with.

Anyone experience issues with the country designation?

On my test, it appears to only have matched the initial "United" which meant that instead of United States it became United Arab Emirates.
