I create the user, filling in the login, setting the password to display on screen, full name and email address. I then set the user role to a custom defined one called editor. Then I go to the User tab and turn off manager access and set the startup page as 1. The goal here is to have Quickedit access only and direct the user to the front homepage to make changes. When I click save, I get caught in this endless loop of javascript popup errors. First, "email address doesn’t seem to be valid" and then "Logging error: action not set". Any ideas what is wrong?

This is a reported bug but seems to be a corner case problem that only affects certain configurations - I will try following the steps you have mentioned to see if I get a similar result and try and find a reason why this happens. Could you please let me know your server configuration (PHP version, mySQL version etc.) as that may also be a factor.

I’m keen to get this issue sorted out but have never been able to replicate the issue myself to be able to do any fault-finding.

I don’t get the above bug when doing the above in 0.9.5, but I still cannot achieve what davedenis is trying to do (restrict a new manager user to QuickEdit and grant editor access to their own documents only).
I posted about that here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,11594.0.html

          Thanks,

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been out of town. Here are the details:
            Server: Linux
            PHP: 5.0.5
            MySQL: 4.1.21-standard-log
            MODx: 0.9.5 final

Let me know if I’ve left anything out.
